Shivers

Your excitement was contagious,

Your spirit always courageous.

But in the end, it left me outrageous—

Day after day, you vanished.

I wish you had never vanished.

With heartbreak came heartache,

Tears enough to fill a river—

The thought alone gives me shivers.

I start to quiver in your arms,

Yet my mind finally calms.

You wipe my tears, and my fears fade—

For a moment, I feel safe again.

I was nobody without you. But tell me... was your success worth it?
